I. Cyrelian’s backstory- Saturalia Celebration- unnumbered

Cyrelian’s reflections on the events of twenty years prior.

Almost completely safe for work. One bathtub scene with an elf in underpants.

I absolutely adored this chapter. Beautifully nostalgic and warm, and well-timed between chapters 4 and 5.

As usual, your screenshots are stunning, and the attention to detail put into every character is breathtaking. No wonder Cyrelian’s such a looker – both his mother and father are gorgeous. I loved how vivid their screenshots were – that along with Cyr’s descriptions really got across that he very much deifies them both. (That’s what I got, anyway.)

This is what I loved so much about the chapter, other than the way you captured his memories so well and so warmly – Cyr’s own constant striving for absolute perfection, and presumably his frustration when himself and others let him down in that regard. (This could all be conjecture, or projection, but this is what I read.) Which is why I loved so much when Joral came into the story.

He rids them of the constant need to be performatively perfect – or attempts to, anyway. He teaches Cyr practical skills he can use. And then, my favourite part – he gifts him a lute, and tells him to play it, badly. That whole passage was possibly my favourite part – that acknowledgement that it’s okay to not be immediately amazing at something, and to just do it for the sheer enjoyment of it.

My favorite shot of Joral is him standing there with his mouth dropped open when he first gets sight of the lady.

If Cyrelian has any ability at all to think critically, it’s probably from Joral. His mother’s no slouch, but she’s never been off Alinor and never lived except under the Thalmor. Joral’s been around-and-about.

All of this to illustrate there’s a reason he’s more well-adjusted than his friends and the rest of those idiot Thalmor, hehe.

I had loads of fun decorating that mansion–normally it has kind of a tropical-flower theme– and getting the characters to play with the toys in the nursery.

When I was done with it I grabbed all kinds of screens of Morna-and-Joral being intimate together. Glad I did, because when I left the cell and came back there had been a havok-explosion and all those Saturalia things were tossed everywhere.
